AI Strategy & Adoption Consulting
Ryan Forrestal — The AI Awareness Project
AI transformation fails for human reasons — not technical ones. I help organizations bridge the gap between powerful technology and the people who need to trust it, use it, and benefit from it. No jargon. No overselling. Just honest, experienced guidance that actually lands.
The Foundation
"The technology is rarely the problem.
The people are.
And people are exactly what I understand."
Why Most AI Adoption Fails
Most AI initiatives stall not because the tools don't work — they do. They stall because the humans in the room haven't been brought along. Fear, resistance, unclear ownership, cultural friction, and the very human tendency to protect what's familiar — these are the forces that kill transformation before it starts.
I built The AI Awareness Project on a single observation: the consultants who understand the technology often don't understand the people, and the people leaders often don't understand the technology. I live in both worlds. After 15+ years running business operations across industries and deep immersion in enterprise AI strategy, I speak both languages fluently.
My work is to close that gap — practically, honestly, and with a clear eye on what actually serves your business.
How We Work Together
Three engagement models designed around where you are — not where a vendor wants you to be.
A focused 60-minute deep dive into your business. We identify where AI can genuinely move the needle, what tools fit your actual budget and team, and what to do in the next 30 days.
A 2–4 hour hands-on session with your team. We identify use cases together, explore tools in real time, and build a custom action plan — with change management built in from the start.
Ongoing strategic partnership through the full adoption lifecycle — from vendor selection through successful rollout. For organizations serious about transformation that actually sticks.
The Difference
In Practice
A mid-size professional services firm was losing significant billable hours each week to manual document review, client intake processing, and internal reporting. Leadership knew AI could help but had no framework for where to start — and a team deeply skeptical of technology change after a failed software rollout two years prior.
Beyond the workflow inefficiency, the real obstacle was cultural. The previous technology failure had created institutional resistance. Any new initiative would be judged through the lens of what had gone wrong before. Trust had to be rebuilt before tools could be introduced.
Rather than leading with technology, we began with listening. Department by department, we mapped where time was actually going and where frustration lived. Three high-impact, low-disruption use cases emerged. We piloted the highest-confidence one first — deliberately small, deliberately visible — to create an early win the team could own.
The Person Behind The Work
I spent 15+ years in business operations leadership before the AI wave — long enough to understand how organizations actually work, where decisions really get made, and why good ideas so often die in implementation.
When AI began reshaping the business landscape, I immersed myself deeply — not as a technologist, but as an operator. I wanted to understand what was real and what was noise, and more importantly, how to translate genuine capability into practical business value for teams that don't speak the language of machine learning.
The AI Awareness Project exists because most organizations are navigating this shift without a trusted guide. Someone who won't oversell, won't push unnecessary complexity, and won't disappear after the strategy deck is delivered.
I'm that guide. And I bring something credentials alone can't teach — the ability to walk into a room of skeptical people and leave with their trust.
Who This Is For
If your business involves document-intensive workflows, multi-party coordination, or complex processes — you're sitting on AI opportunities that most consultants overlook.
10–500 employees. You need AI solutions that fit your reality — limited IT resources, tight budgets, and teams that need practical tools they'll actually use and embrace.
You need AI strategy that considers governance, compliance, and security from day one — not as an afterthought. Responsible AI adoption is built into every engagement.
